‘Downton Abbey’ season 4: Notes on Hugh Bonneville, Sophie McShera, and more
Ready for some more “Downton Abbey”-related news? What we’re seeing from some of the headlines below is that even though many of the show’s cast members have been busy in season 4 production, they have nonetheless found themselves the time to take on some other gigs, as well.
Take, for the latest example, the fact that Hugh Bonneville now has company at the Olivier Awards taking place on the 28th of this month. We’ve posted previously about him taking the reigns of the gig, and now we’re hearing (via fan site Downton Abbey Addicts) that Lily James, otherwise known as Lady Rose, will be one of the presenters. This news comes mere days after reports came out that she is one of the contenders for a leading role in an upcoming “Cinderella” feature film from Disney. This awards ceremony, which is basically the British equivalent of the Tonys in America, will take place at the Royal Opera House in London.
As for some other news, check out the teaser below for “The Job Lot,” and upcoming series on “Downton Abbey’s” network ITV. While we don’t know just how prominent of a role Sophie McShera is going to have in the series, you can see her featured briefly in the trailer for the show below. This is some more proof of the actress’ versatility, and that she’s far capable of being more than just the temperamental Daisy as a member of the servants. (Unfortunately, the only premiere date the clip gives us is “soon.” Frustrating, right?)
