‘Dancing with the Stars 16’ results: Did D.L. Hughley, Wynonna Judd survive?
There’s one thing that we are quickly learning about “Dancing with the Stars” this season: if you are a bad dancer, you may still get opportunities to advance to the next round. Plus, we’re also starting to wonder whether or not the professional dancers have just as substantial of fan followings as the actual celebrities.
After all, can you think of any other explanation as to why D.L. Hughley was not in danger of leaving the competition again? Not only has he been pretty terrible on the floor the last three weeks, but his attitude with the judges tonight was pretty awful, and takes away the spirit of the competition (which is fun and silly). Basically, he’s the new Michael Bolton, and we don’t even think that the judges were as mean to him last night as Bruno Tonioli was when he told Bolton that he had the “worst jive” that he had ever seen.
For some more evidence of this, just look at the fact that Lisa Vanderpump (with a new pro in Gleb Savchenko) was in jeopardy yet again, as was Andy Dick with new pro Sharna Burgess. At around this point in the show, we were pretty sure that the latter actor was going to be sent home. Why? Not only did he have fairly low scores, but he went early in the show, and we don’t really know how many fans he really has out there after everything that he’s done in the past.
At the end of the day, though, our theory about popular pros did not hold as much water as we thought. A clearly-unhappy Wynonna Judd was sent home over Lisa or Andy, which was very shocking considering that Tony Dovolani is the reigning champ. What happened? She wasn’t a great dancer, but we think that she and Kellie Pickler may have split some votes.
