MTV’s ‘Awkward’ season 3 spoilers: Beau Mirchoff talks future for Jenna, Matty

With the season 3 premiere of “Awkward” quickly approaching in just a couple of weeks, we’re starting to find out a few more details about what some of the relationships are going to be like when the series picks back up.

So are Matty and Jenna really going to be happy in their relationship now? Based on what Beau Mirchoff had to say in a new interview with TVLine, it seemed like there will still be plenty of love between his character and Ashley Rickards’. However, is this “love” really enough? There are going to be issues that come up early and often, and this is going to be something that they are each going to have to contend with if they want to stay together:

“They both care about each other a whole lot. I hate to say it, but I wonder if Matty cares for Jenna a little bit too much”

When it comes to some of what we are going to see away from this relation, Mirchoff promises that “you get to learn more about Matty this year in his home life. He’s not as happy as people may think.” This in itself is welcome, since we are oftentimes wrapped up in Jenna and her world, and we tend to not really get the same sort of panoramic perspective of everyone else.

There’s little doubting that “Awkward” is taking a pretty big risk this year in starting off their new season a few weeks before the start of the May sweeps, but we should learn pretty soon as to whether or not it will be something that pays off.
