‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 8 spoilers: Filming wraps, per Neil Patrick Harris

While we may still be waiting to find out whether or not Barney and Robin get married on “How I Met Your Mother” season 8, all of the cast and crew now know for sure. Friday was the last day of filming for the spring, and the cast will not be getting back together, sadly, until later this summer to start up work on the show’s ninth and final season. (The good news here is that there is a pretty long stretch of time for some of the actors to work on other things.)

In a new post on his Twitter account, Barney Stinson himself in Neil Patrick Harris had the following to say about saying goodbye to season 8 as a whole:

“Just shot my last scene of HIMYM’s 8th season. Enormous thanks to the writers and dynamite crew for their hard work. #bestjobever”

Meanwhile, executive producer Carter Bays also shared some of his thoughts, which understandably includes plenty of sleep after countless months of trying to get the show ready to air:

“That’s a wrap on #HIMYM season eight! #woo!#zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz”

With the secrets that are hidden with this season finale, we have to imagine that the show almost has a “LOST”-like atmosphere where nobody can really say much of anything. Considering that there are another 24 episodes to go next season, we have a hard time imagining that the Mother was actually revealed on the show. Then again, stranger things have happened before.
