‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9 spoilers: ‘White Collar’ actress Hilarie Burton signs on
Even though we may be late in the season now on “Grey’s Anatomy,” the guest casting just keeps coming. Who’s the latest star to head to the newly-named Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital? It’s none other than someone who has done everything from “White Collar” to “One Tree Hill” in Hilarie Burton.
According to E! News, Burton has signed on for an episode near the end of the season as a craniofacial specialist who visits the land of Meredith and Derek in order to work on a case, and sadly, there are no further details at this time. There is a little bit of an interesting twist when it comes to this casting, though, as Burton’s love in real life (in actor Jeffrey Dean Morgan) has also been on the show, and played the role of Denny (which, thanks to the whole ghost storyline with Katherine Heigl, is one of those things that “Grey’s Anatomy” fans probably prefer to forget).
So does this impact in any way the future of Burton on “White COllar” season 5? Probably not, since it is not clear from the get-go how much of the USA series she is going to be in. After all, she already has booked a role in the upcoming Fox pilot “The List,” which probably also means that she has not plans to make her stay over in Seattle here permanent. Nonetheless, it will be nice to have her on a season that has already featured such wonderful guest stars as Ethan Embry, Sarah Chalke, and the magnificent Loretta Devine making her final appearance as Adele Webber.
What do you think of the Burton casting? If you have not hear the news yet about the sudden changes being made to “Grey’s Anatomy” for the season 9 finale, you can check it out over at the link here.
