NBC’s ‘Community’ season 4 spoilers: ‘Gravity’ singer Sara Bareilles touches down
While “Community” has been accused at times during season 4 of resting on some of Dan Harmon’s old creations rather than coming up with some of its own, we have to say that the following is a pretty fantastic reference to one of the show’s greatest episodes: the mock clip show that brought up “six seasons and a move” alongside Abed’s love for “The Cape.”
Multiple sources confirm that singer and “The Sing-Off” judge Sara Bareilles is going to be guest-starring during the show’s upcoming puppet-themed episode, but she will not be playing herself. The twist here is obvious to diehard fans: during that aforementioned clip show, her hit song “Gravity” played while we saw a montage of tender Annie / Jeff moments (and also hilariously some between Pierce and Abed). This song has thus been used in countless hilarious fan videos, including one just between Pierce and Fat Neil.
This marks the singer’s first actual credit as an actress, but she was likely surrounding by so many great performers during her taping that it may have been an easier transition that it could have otherwise been. Plus, she had an opportunity to be a part of a pretty whimsical episode, which is something that “Community” has done a very good job at in the past in between the Christmas claymation half-hour and the move to become an 8-bit video game that we saw during an episode close to the season 3 finale last May.
This episode will air in the coming weeks.
Overall, what do you think about Bareilles’ casting? Be sure to share some of your thoughts below, and you can also read some more news related to this puppet episode just by paying a visit over to the link here.

About time! For anyone who watched her on The Sing Off, especially the skit with Ben Folds on the Holiday show, she is naturally funny. Glad her talent is being recognized and I hope to see more of her and not just at her concerts. Good for you, NBC!
