‘Doctor Who’ season 7 spoilers: Jenna-Louise Coleman talks contemporary Clara
Are you ready for the season 7 premiere of “Doctor Who”? Let’s hope so, since we are now just one day away from it happening. The series is set to wrap up the season in the coming weeks, and we will continue to see a different side to the new companion of Clara, a woman that The Doctor has deemed to be “impossible” in some of the preview clips for the episodes ahead.
When the two surface on Saturday, we will see them in a much more contemporary London than in either of the actress’ past appearances on the show. So how will this Clara differ? Speaking in an interview with TV Guide to preview what lies ahead, Jenna-Louise Coleman offers up the following:
“They’re different and from different time periods, but there’s a similar essence and spirit throughout them … Our Clara has grown up and is born and raised in contemporary London, so her lifestyle is very different from Oswin who’s been locked up on her own for a year and has kind of gone mad and is not as feisty as the Christmas Clara. This Clara doesn’t wear her heart on her sleeve. She has quite a lot of secrets.”
We will see a variety of adventures for the two coming up, and the good news already is that based on some of the footage that we have seen to this point, the fun and the intrigue from the Christmas special is still very much there; not only that, but it should only get even more exciting as we progress closer and closer to some of the show’s most-important episodes yet.
