‘New Girl’ season 2, episode 20 preview: Jess turns into Elvis

Over the past few weeks, the producers behind “New Girl” have hyped up an episode that is going to be a big one not just for Nick and Jess individually, but also potentially as a pair down the road. The two clearly showed at the end of this week’s episode that there are clearly some feelings there, but will Zooey Deschanel’s character really be able to be there for him during a time of great need?

Tuesday night’s new episode “Chicago” is going to feature Nick returning to his hometown with all of his roommates, and we will have an opportunity to meet the rest of his family members in the process. Just in the few words said in this promo by Margo Martindale, we already know that she is going to be brilliant as his mom.

As for what else is going to be brilliant, who’s ready to see Jess, as Elvis, try to cheer people up at the funeral? We don’t know how in the world things led to this point where someone actually said that this was a good idea, but who knows? Based on the fact that everyone in the audiences seems to be enjoying themselves as Jess pretends to be the King, it may actually be working.

As for a notable absence in here, it’s possible that we may be in for an episode without much Cece. Winston told her to stay away while Schmidt tries to get used to the fact that she is marrying someone else, and there really wouldn’t be any reason for Nick to invite her to the Windy City.
