NBC’s ‘Community’ season 4, ‘Revolution’ score finale dates
NBC was one of the last major networks to confirm all of their season finale airdates, but on Tuesday they did so with the vast majority of their shows. Were there some surprises in there? Sure, and there may have also been some clues mixed in there as to which programs are going to end up living to see another day, and which will not.
Typically, one danger sign is when a show ends their season prior to the May sweeps, and we are going to be doing this with “Go On” (Thursday, April 11 at 9:30 p.m. Eastern time) and “The New Normal” (Tuesday, April 2 at 9:00). Despite both shows getting off to a good start, neither maintained much of a consistent audience without the help of “The Voice” as a lead-in; and thus, they are two of many comedies that are on the chopping block. “Whitney” and “1600 Penn” were both announced to be ending before May a while ago, so this part of the announcement is not a major surprise.
As for some other assorted dates…
-“Parks and Recreation” will conclude on Thursday, May 2, and “Community” will end the following week. (Both shows will be in standard timeslots.) While the former is a lock to return, the status of the latter is currently uncertain.
-In airing its finale on Monday, May 27, “Revolution” is the closest network show that premiered in fall to actually end outside of the normal TV season months … unless you count “The Voice,” which will be on the air until Tuesday, June 18.
-“Hannibal” is actually going to be running until Thursday, June 27, but it has yet to even premiere yet on the schedule.
