‘All-Star Celebrity Apprentice’ review: Omarosa vs. La Toya Jackson; who won?

For the second straight week on “All-Star Celebrity Apprentice,” we saw Omarosa in what would have been a rather unfamiliar position prior to this season: in tears. It was pretty clear that she was still trying to deal with the tragic death of her fiance Michael Clarke Duncan, and it helps to beg a simple question: why did she decide to do this show? At the time of filming, it was less than two months after he passed, and while we know that this series is her bread and butter, and you have to move on with life eventually, it still seems as though she is emotionally raw over the whole experience.

We don’t really dispute the idea that she wanted to leave the soap opera-themed Crystal Light task right before it happened, with the main reason being trying to get Duncan’s 911 tape from being played on TV. (Sadly, it still happened.) Was she still at war with Project Manager La Toya Jackson? Sure, and she probably would have performed if she could. Why would she want to be a target? The only things that were really shocking in the deliberation was La Toya trying to convince Donald Trump to actually let her fire someone on her team … and then her not wanting to bring Omarosa back into the boardroom.

Ultimately, the decision here to fire La Toya was a pretty simple: branding and integration were the biggest issues with this task, and thus she really had to be the only choice. Trump can’t fire Omarosa for missing time, since he would have had to fire Trace Adkins last week if that was the case.

Speaking of Trace, who knew that he was such an acting MVP? Stephen Baldwin really relied heavily on Penn Jillette during his turn as PM, which really turned out to be smart since most of his ideas were really pretty strong. The guy’s just a mad scientist of ideas, and Dee Snider may have won last week had he listened. The only thing really eventful that came from this team was simply seeing Gary Busey pout after everyone labeled him the weakest person on the team prior to them being declared the winners.
