Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season 3 renewal: June update

Is there any chance that we are going to hear more regarding Monarch: Legacy of Monsters season 3 between now and the end of June?

Well, the first thing that we do have to state on this subject is quite simple: There is absolutely more story that could be theoretically told. The second season ended with a pretty big cliffhanger, and it does make some sense for the folks at Apple TV to want to show what happens on the other side. However, this is where things also do get a little bit complicated. This is not a cheap show to make, and we imagine that committing to more is a process that takes some time to figure out.

What Monarch: Legacy of Monsters has going for it is rather simple: The Monsterverse is a big franchise! Godzilla and King Kong are of course known across generations and beyond just that, there is some real international appeal here. There is also a side project coming revolving around Lee Shaw, so there does remain an interest in making this as large a franchise as humanly possible.

If there is any cause for concern, though, it may come down to trying to answer this particular question: Just how popular was the second season really? It can be hard to really gauge mainstream attention around these shows since these are not always numbers that are shared publicly, but the latest chapter did not seem to be generating as much water-cooler discussion as some other shows. It would not surprise us at all if Apple did not reveal anything specific this month and through that, forced everyone to wait a little bit longer.

With that being said, we would be shocked if this was not figured out by the end of the summer. Just consider that as we continue the debates.
