Ratings: ‘Nikita’ season 3 nearly beats ‘Touch’; NBC’s ‘Grimm’ fares well
Without the Friday night ratings beast known as “Shark Tank” taking away viewers, you would think that some of the other shows would see a rise in numbers … right? Not exactly. Instead, what we ended up having here was a number of shows airing at 9:00 p.m. actually losing an audience, and the lowest-rated drama airing on Fox nearly being defeated by a show on The CW that has been routinely bashed by some more low numbers over the years.
That’s right: “Nikita” came within a tenth of a ratings point of beating “Touch,” and while the two are not in direct competition with each other, this still has to be pretty darn embarrassing. The Maggie Q series ended up drawing a 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic for its new episode Friday, whereas “Touch” drew a 0.6. We actually don’t even know why in the world this show is still on the air, sicne Fox can’t be making money from putting it on when they could probably air “Bones” repeats and draw just about the same numbers.
Over on NBC, there was some okay news as “Fashion Star” actually kept the entirely of its premiere audience … though this is still pretty miserable given that its premiere audience was also a 0.8 rating. When multiple CW shows score better than you and you are airing on one of the Big Four networks, this is pretty embarrassing. Just to make things even more embarrassing, a “Shark Tank” repeat came close to winning the night with a 1.6, while “Grimm” (1.4) was in second place among new series behind “Blue Bloods” (1.7).
If you want to compare the “Nikita” ratings here to how it has been in recent weeks, you can do so over at the link here. As we said previously, we still believe that there is an 80% chance the show will be back for a season 4.
