ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 2, episode 16 preview: The Olivia and Fitz drama awaits
Finally, we have a new “Scandal” promo that has something to do with the plot! While we are sure that some of the promos featuring a stripped-down Kerry Washington have generated plenty of buzz among casual TV viewers, we know that diehard ans have been hoping to see something a little bit more substantial.
With that in mind, we present for you the latest promo from “Top of the Hour,” which will be on the air in less than one week. While you could talk about the battle between Olivia and the White House if wanted to, we’re sure that the big moment teased here is Mellie coming to the realization that Fitz may still be tied to this woman far more than she would like. We’ve wondered just what sort of long-term implications (if any) that the hookup during “Whiskey Tango Foxtrot” would have, and it is nice to see that it is not being forgotten.
At the same time, there is still a plethora of drama to follow that up. For one, we have whatever else Olivia is working on that will push and pull her close to Fitz pretty much at all times; and then, we have that tearful phone call in which our philandering President proclaims that she “ruined” him. Wait … aren’t they both responsible for everything they did? Yes, that’s right: they are. These scenes are what make thing one of the most compelling and also bizarre relationships on TV: neither party is particularly moral or even nice to each other much of the time, but they still have one of the larger fanbases out there.
What do you think about this new promo? Be sure to share your thoughts below, and you can also see who from the world of “Fringe” is coming over to the show by visiting the story over at the link here.

Well I’m married I won’t want my children to stay in a marriage that is unhealthy. As long as you gave it your best thats all you can do. Now, for Olitz I do agree that I don’t think it was every meant for them to be together, I wished I had remember that so, me leaving wouldn’t hurt as much. I know me leaving won’t change anything about this show but, thats how I feel. I believe they could of made the relationship work. He wan’t leaving his children just his wife. I think that his how Olivia thinks about it. Since Fitz got shot he think he is real clear about the decisions he’s making. For once in his life he wants to be happy and unforturnatly it didn’t include Melody. Why people don’t want to except the fact that he doesn’t love her anymore and wants his freedom? Seems to me the viewers thinks he only want freedom to be with Olivia, I don’t think thats true.

I’m a diehard Olitz fan, but to demand Shonda do what the fans want is absurd. Shonda R is a genius and one of the best writers of her time. I don’t think Olitz was ever in the cards to get together, but only a deep dark secret that was meant to be in the closet, as it should because of the implication it would have on Fitz and Olivia.
I hope the other Olitz fans really think before they put hands to writing their views because we don’t want to give men/media the wrong idea or pull females backward. I don’t think any females on the planet would want to be on the receiving end. If we think about it, would Fitz have really and truly walk away from his children and his presidency?!! I don’t think so, but let’s say for the argument he did; it would tear him and Olivia apart because at the end of the day Fitz would blame Olitz for his decision.
We should all leave the characters up to Shonda and open our minds to new beginning/chapter. I’m positive that no one would want to watch each episode about their affairs which is in no shape or form right no matter which way we twist it drama or no drama. Keep in mind it’s a TV show and there’re as much fans out there that don’t agree with the affair. I hope we tune in and continued to tune in for the amazing writing and cast. Let’s us all sit back and enjoy the shonda ride:)
Remember, as individuals we grow and move on and evolved.

I respect your opinion but, this is tv drama. Tv couples go through trials. Shonda is going to stay successful. Even if Fitz and Olivia don’t get back together for 2 or mor seasons, people like myself will always tune in. Let’s face it, its like a train accident-its scary but you want turn away. IT’S TV.

I think Shonda Rhimes is tired of being successful.
This insistence on vandalising a perfectly good couple is spiteful to the fanbase and unproductive.
It seems from the previews as if Olivia is going to start sleeping with Jake while Fitz relies more heavily on Jake.
Not only is this role going to make Scott Foley a hate figure among scandal fans if he sticks with it( witness what the nurse role in One flew over the cuckoo’s nest did to Loiuse Fletcher if you think repugnant roles come without a cost), more imporatantly fans are going to leave!
The creators need to remember that all people need to do is change the channel
Better shows have been ruined by less than this willful tomfoolery.
I already skipped the last episode, and ratings are beginning to slip.
If they’re don’t clean this up and put them back in character soon it’ll be too late.
But I doubt they will.
TV is LITTERED with the figurative career corpses of creators who abused the trust of their most ardent fans.

I just luv it..as a writer, it gives me blisters and makes me break out in hives..do love pain..no..but some writers-sexual-emotional pain is good for the soul…this is what we live..why not watch it play out on tv. Have some wine and popcorn..it numbs your soul..makes u live longer…isn’t it what we strive for..longevity

it’s no secret that I’m an Olitz fan. I’m hurting over all these harsh things you guys are making them go through. If you want to break-up them for good just do it. Doing all of this won’t change our minds about them as a couple but, more on the writers as creators. It seems like you guys are trying to break-up the Olitz Fan Club. We tend to hurt the ones we love especially when we are hurting. Please can we get some healing going on!.

I hope we stop this very degrading plot between the prez and Olivia. I’m a Olitz fan, but it’s getting hard to watch if they continue with this plot. Scandal is more that the sick/degrading affair between the
president. If that’s what fans tune in for then Shonda Rhimes’s job as a writer
doesn’t have a merit or does it validate her as one if the best writer of her time.
