‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9, episode 18 video: Want to see Patrick Dempsey go crazy?

We have the first promo for you below for next week’s new episode of “Grey’s Anatomy” entitled “Idle Hands,” and there is one technique that is used within it that we personally find to rather entertaining: the fake-out. Much like this is Ryan Seacrest trying to trick a safe contestant on “American Idol” into thinking that they are in jeopardy, the video below has a little bit of fun with the notion that Patrick Dempsey’s Derek may be facing one of his biggest adversaries yet: his pregnant wife.

Specifically, Meredith is going to have a myriad of problems, with the most prominent one being that she is simply freaking out about everything great and small. From one side of the coin, it’s understandable; Meredith is someone is is prone to being a bit overly concerned at times, and having a child is one of those things that you are very much licensed to be concerned about at every turn. However, this has to get frustrating to people close to you at times, especially if there is nothing wrong.

Could there be a complication with this baby that we don’t know about already? Sure. This is Shonda Rhimes, and she is certainly a showrunner who loves to put out surprises from time to time. This promo in itself could be another fake-out in trying to convince us that we are looking at a pretty comedic episode, when in reality there could be some serious drama mixed in here, as well, now that the focus can be on something other than the hospital itself.
