ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 2 spoilers: ‘Fringe’ star Jasika Nicole set to guest

“Scandal” has already managed to book one impressive guest star this season in Lisa Edelstein (who you will be seeing next week), so how do they try to raise the game yet again? Apparently, it’s by getting someone straight over from the world of “Fringe.”

In a new post on Twitter late Wednesday, executive producer Shonda Rhimes confirmed that actress Jasika Nicole from the Fox sci-fi sensation would be making a guest appearance in the upcoming nineteenth episode of the season. Unfortunately, we really do not know too much more outside of that.

So who could Nicole play? Right now, the leading possibility is the secretary for Fitz that we told you about yesterday … though the primary reason for that may be simply that she is one of the few characters coming up that we have not only already heard about, but still does not have an actress attached to the part.

“Scandal” has been a ratings juggernaut throughout much of season 2 thus far, and with that in mind, a season 3 renewal seems almost as though it is going to be coming up right around the corner. We’d love to say that this could lead to more possibilities for Nicole to appear in the future, though it is probably way too early to say that right now without even knowing a single thing about the part she is playing or what Rhimes’ intentions are for her (beyond just being extremely excited to have her on set).
