ABC’s ‘Scandal’ season 2 spoilers: A deeper look at ‘Snake in the Garden’

Over the weekend, we first posted some of the early details about the return of Hollis Doyle to “Scandal” for “Snake in the Garden,” a new episode that is set to air two weeks from Thursday. Now, we have a few more details coming in that show what exactly a kidnapper is looking for from the character, some new story hints for David, and more evidence that Fitz’s attempts to use Jake for information are not going to stop at any point in the near future.

“The team find themselves working for the devil when Hollis Doyle’s daughter is kidnapped and held for ransom. Meanwhile, David is still in danger and is forced to seek shelter at Pope & Associates; Olivia and Jake take their flirtatious relationship to the next level even as the President continues to rely on Jake for intel; in the White House, Cyrus will stop at nothing to get back into the President’s good graces; and Mellie’s claws come out when she tells Fitz he needs to make some changes.”

Easily, the element of this story that we are the most interested in finding out more of is the relationship between Olivia, Jake, and Fitz, the sort of awkward love triangle that will form as a result. After all, what Scott Foley’s character does not realize is the extent to which he is probably being used, though he at the same time probably thinks that he is the one manipulating the President in some shape or form.
