‘The Amazing Race 22,’ ‘Criminal Minds,’ ‘Elementary’ receive two-hour finales
On Monday CBS chose to announce all of their upcoming season finale dates, and for the most part the last was ultimately just as predictable as the network itself. With one key exception, nearly every series on the roster is ending in May, and many of them will run through the end of the sweeps period on May 24.
However, the network did show that they have a certain willingness to double up on some episodes. While it has been commonplace for them to give 2-hour finales to “Survivor” and “The Amazing Race” over the years, they also decided this time around to give some of their scripted shows a treatment that makes them appear a little bit more cinematic.
Unless otherwise noted, all of the shows below are airing at their normal timeslot.
Sunday, April 28 – “The Good Wife”
Sunday, May 5 – “The Amazing Race” (two hours) and “The Mentalist”
Thursday, May 9 – “Two and a Half Men” and “Person of Interest”
Friday, May 10 – “Vegas” (which recently moved to the night at 9:00 p.m. Eastern) and “Blue Bloods”
Sunday, May 12 – “Survivor Caramoan: Fans vs. Favorites” finale and reunion show (three hours)
Monday, May 13 – “How I Met Your Mother” and “2 Broke Girls”
Tuesday, May 14 – “NCIS,” “NCIS: Los Angeles,” and “Golden Boy”
Wednesday, May 15 – “CSI”
Thursday, May 16 – “The Big Bang theory” and “Elementary” (two hours, beginning at 9:00)
Friday, May 17 – “Undercover Boss”
Monday, May 20 – “Rules of Engagement” and “Mike & Molly”
Wednesday, May 22 – “Criminal Minds” (two hours)
CBS has yet again had a very dominant year. They won the February sweeps in the 18-49 demographic recently for the first time in years, and “The Big Bang Theory” has evolved into a massive hit.
