NBC’s ‘The Voice’ season 4: Blake Shelton, Adam Levine talk ‘helping’ new coaches
So will “The Voice” season 4 really work as an environment to help nurture and support new coaches Shakira and Usher? Based on what we are hearing now from the show’s wily veterans, it certainly doesn’t seem like it.
Blake Shelton and Adam Levine have been in many ways two of the primary cogs behind the show’s success, and it doesn’t look like they are going to stop being competitive now that they have three championships between them. In the video below, Shelton claims that he and the Maroon 5 frontman have made it a key point to not help or encourage the new additions to the show too much in terms of strategy, with the primary reason for this simply being that they don’t want to give them any sort of tangible leg to stand on during the blind auditions.
However, the video also shows that neither party is really going to need that much help. Shakira is going to use her feminine wiles at some points to help lure potential members to her team, while Usher will surely work some of his manly charm … not to mention a few signature dance moves. One thing that is really nice in watching this footage is that both of the newbies seem to really get what the show is about: while there is a search for the next superstar that by and large takes precedence over everything, it is also an entertainment show and viewers want to see you joke around, get competitive, and try to undermine the other coaches.
