AMC’s ‘The Killing’ season 3 spoilers: ‘The L.A. Complex’ alum snags recurring role
The cast for “The Killing” season 3 is starting to take shape, and with a new case this year that finally represents Linden and Holder moving on from Rosie Larsen comes many new faces.
As for the latest one, The Hollywood Reporter claims that Benjamin Charles Watson, who is best known for playing Tariq on the short-lived but critically-acclaimed CW / MuchMusic drama “The L.A. Complex,” has signed on for a four-episode recurring arc as Rayna. Known affectionately by his friends as “Gay Ray,” he is a transgender teen who has found a life and a family for himself on the streets after running away from home thanks to an abusive (and homophobic) father. Rayna’s ultimately goal is to meet his biological mother.
It is not entirely clear at the moment how Watson’s character fits in to the story as a whole, though it is believed that the major story for the series will be at least similar to the Larsen case in that it involves another young person who goes missing. Linden will not be working as a detective at the start of the season, but the connection she feels for this case thanks to what happened with Rosie will be one of many reasons why she finds herself pulled back in here.
Some of the other new faces currently case on the show include Peter Sarsgaard as an inmate on death row, Elias Koteas as a new partner for Linden, Amy Seimetz as a mother of a missing daughter, and Max Fowler as a young hustler on the street. Joel Kinnaman will be back as Holder, even if Linden does spend time working with someone else.
There is no word just yet on when “The Killing” season 3 will premiere, but stay tuned for more updates from the show’s casting and filming process. If you want to read some more specific information on Sarsgaard’s character, you can do so here.
