‘Game of Thrones’ season 3 spoilers: New posters show two sides of Emilia Clarke
Everyone has a good and a bad side in the world of Westeros. If there is one thing that we are meant to take from the new posters that HBO has released for “Game of Thrones” season 3, it is clearly this. These are easily one of the cooler things that we have seen the network put out to promote the show yet, largely because they remind us of “The Dark Knight” mixed with a little bit of “Avatar” for good measure (but that is probably just due to the blue).
So which of the posters is the coolest to us? You can blow all of them up by clicking on them, and our vote based on facial expression alone has to go to the excellent Sandor the Hound. Otherwise, we do think that Arya looks especially fierce, that evil Dany is actually rather terrifying, that Joffrey looks peeved no matter whether he is happy or not, and that Robb Stark basically looks the same regardless.
The smart move with these posters is to show us in many ways that there is no character that we can necessarily trust to be either good or evil in the new season; just as allegiances change, so do the intentions of most of these people. One fine example of this is Jaime Lannister, who was viewed more as a villain during season 1 but suddenly became an underdog in season 2. Tyrion was in a position of power for almost all of the second season, whereas now he is going to be forced to scrap and fight for everything he wants thanks largely to his sudden demotion brought on by Tywin’s arrival to King’s Landing.
Which one of the posters below is your favorite? If you haven’t seen most of the upcoming “Game of Thrones” season 3 episode titles yet, be sure to do so by heading on over to the link here.
