‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 8 spoilers: Barney and a blast from the past

“How I Met Your Mother” may be in its eighth season, but the show is clearly proving that they have no problem of really dipping far back down into the well to pay tribute to fans who have been checking out the show since the very beginning. We recently wrote about how Jayma Mays is going to come back after playing a small role in the show’s first season, and now it looks like executive producers Craig Thomas and Carter Bays are reintroducing something from back in season 2.

According to a new report from E! News, the upcoming 21st episode of this season is going to combine something that we certainly knew was coming up soon (Barney’s bachelor party) with something that we saw all the way back in season 2: the bizarre game in Chinese that we saw him playing in Atlantic City. We actually haven’t seen much of Barney gambling (or heard about his past addiction to it) since that time, so with that in mind this could make a rather welcome invitation back into that world.

Along the way, let’s just hope that Barney does not do something completely insane; you know, along the lines of managing to gamble away everything that he has worked so hard for. Also, let’s hope that he does not do anything else completely ridiculous to ruin the wedding that does seem to be coming up for him by the end of the season.
