‘Game of Thrones’ season 3 spoilers: Check out most of the episode titles!
“Game of Thrones” season 3 is just about a month away now, but just in case you want something to chat and speculate about while you wait for the show to start up again, you now have this: the vast majority of the titles for the hit HBO series moving forward.
While some of these are going to be extremely welcome for those of you who are readers of the George R.R. Martin books, some others may not make any sense for others. They come courtesy of Winter Is Coming, and we’ll update you with the two missing links as soon as they are available.
3.01 – “Valar Dohaeris”
3.02 – “Dark Wings, Dark Words”
3.03 – “Walk of Punishment”
3.04 – “And Now His Watch is Ended”
3.05 – “Kissed by Fire”
3.06 – TBD
3.07 – “The Bear and the Maiden Fair”
3.08 – TBD
3.09 – “The Rains of Castamere”
3.10 – “Mhysa”
As for what we know about some of these specific episodes at the moment “The Bear and the Maiden Fair” is the installment written by George R.R. Martin, and seems based on the title alone to be the hour that contains some footage actually shot in Los Angeles (which is the only place in which they could get a bear for shooting, seemingly). Meanwhile, “The Rains of Castamere” is likely to be the equivalent of “Blackwater” for this season; “Game of Thrones” has a habit of making the ninth episode the most shocking one of the season, and without giving anything away, one of the most stunning events in the show’s history is going to take place around this time.
Just from a superficial standpoint, the episode 4 title is just interesting based on the fact that there are not too many members of the Night’s Watch that it could be referring to, and it begs an easy question: does “ended” refer to a death, or a mere fact that someone has moved on to other things? The latter would be the most surprising, based on the fact that you take the oath for life.
