‘Game of Thrones’ season 3: A dragon highlights latest promotional poster
We recently wrote about the recent season 3 trailer for “Game of Thrones” shattering some YouTube viewing records over on HBO; and now to go along with this, we have the official new promotional poster for the show to take a gander at.
If you have been floating around the internet today, it’s possible that you have already seen this poster in some various forms. Both The Hollywood Reporter and IMDb have highlighted the poster in a series of new advertisements, and even the New York Times had a massive projection of a dragon placed as a silhouette behind many of their articles. This alone is a smart form of advertising, and the producers are obviously trying to highlight the fact that Daenerys Targeryan’s dragons are starting to grow up here.
Expectations are surely through the roof for the show based on some of the past ratings, along with the fact that the show routinely was one of HBO’s most-successful across all sorts of media. It is a monster in DVD sales, with recordings and on-demand viewings, and the merchandising for the show is also through the roof right now. “Game of Thrones,” along with the success of “Girls” and “Homeland,” has helped to usher in the new wave of premium cable series.
As the poster clearly shows, we will return to Westeros beginning on Sunday, March 31, and we will of course have plenty more coverage of all things related to the show as they occur.
