‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 8 spoilers: ‘Glee’s’ Jayma Mays to return

While Jayma Mays is still a major fixture on “Glee” as Emma Pillsbury, we have seen over the past several months the actress getting an opportunity to take on some other roles elsewhere. She has already played a part on FX’s ‘The League,” in the past year, and now she is coming back to “How I Met Your Mother” for a role in an upcoming season 8 episode.

CBS confirmed the news on Monday, and also announced that Mays would specifically be reprising her season 1 role of “Coat Check Girl” … whatever that entails within the world of the this show. The episode is entitled “Time Travelers,” and the official description really makes no mention of Mays at all:

“Future versions of Ted and Barney try to convince Ted to go see Robots Versus Wrestlers. Meanwhile, Marshall challenges Robin to a dance-off.”

On the surface, this episode sounds a little bit like filler, though we are still a little bit excited to see a certain robot competition again on the show. One thing that is definitely worth noting? That this half-hour will not air until Monday, March 18, meaning that the show is set to go on the same sort of March hiatus that it does pretty much every year. Considering that there are only six episodes left in the season after this week, and that the show does run with new episodes until May, this move does make complete and total sense.
