‘Game of Thrones’ season 3 spoilers: Check out the epic first trailer!

Any and all “Game of Thrones” fans have been waiting for a pretty long time to see the first trailer for the show’s return to HBO; and now, it is finally here in all of its excellence.

The clip first debuted during Friday night’s edition of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” and features the return of Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage, and the rest of the cast. There are also (seemingly larger) dragons, swords on fire, and Cirian Hinds making some pretty nasty orders Beyond the Wall. The scenery is once again beautiful, and the costuming and editing work top-notch.

So what can you expect to see transpire? While there aren’t any explicit plot details that are worth sharing from this trailer alone, we can tell you (without giving too much away) that there will be surprising new alliances, new romances, and power struggles that form throughout the ten episodes ahead. There is also a certain event coming that will make your jaws drop even further to the ground than either the Battle of Blackwater or the execution of Ned Stark ever did. All in all, it’s pretty fair to say that you are going to be in for a pretty wild (and very entertaining ride).

“Game of Thrones” season 3 returns to HBO on March 31, and of course we’re going to have plenty more when it comes to scoop, interviews, and other coverage leading up to that date. (For those unaware, the season DVD arrived this past week.)
