‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 9, episode 16 review: Is [spoiler] running Seattle Grace?
After several weeks of confusion, and after the plane crash has somehow managed to dominate much of the airtime for much of the past nine months, Thursday night’s new episode brought us something that is as close to a conclusion to some of these stories as we are going to get.
However, what we did not see coming in any shape or form was just who seemingly is now in charge of running the show: Jackson Avery. Thanks to a move by Catherine and the Harper – Avery Foundation at the last minute, Seattle Grace was saved from the likes of Pegasus, which is a pretty good considering the fact that this group was actually plotting to basically sell the place off for spare parts (which led to some tension when Owen found out that Cristina knew more than she was letting on).
Having Jackson seemingly be the guy in charge is going to create all sorts of interesting situations for the hospital moving forward. After all, he’s not qualified for the position at all, especially when you consider that the likes of Dr. Richard Webber are still walking around the hospital. To make matters even more interesting, there is also still the question as to how April is going to feel about suddenly having to handle the fact that her old flame will be potentially bossing her around. (Can you say awkward?)
While this twist came a little too out of left field for our liking, there is no doubt that it makes things interesting moving forward.
