‘The X Factor’ USA: Khloe Kardashian reportedly not returning; Cheryl Cole rumors
Things are starting to become rather complicated with “The X Factor” USA negotiations, at least if you want to believe some of the reports coming out now.
According to the New York Post, Khloe Kardashian is not likely to be asked back for another season after being largely panned for her poor performance this past season, her first as a major television host. This move was in some ways expected, as network executives rated her performance as “okay” during the TCA winter panels earlier this year. (This is executive-speak for “it was awful.”) As for Khloe’s co-host Mario Lopez, current reports suggest that he will be back … which is not necessarily that much better. While Mario is relatively competent on live television, he also came across during the shows as being emotionless and very unsympathetic to contestants who were getting the heart broken on stage. At this point, we’d rather just see them reboot the entire hosting job again. Heck, even Steve Jones was better than this.
While we have no problem believing this rumor, things start to get a little crazy now. The Post also claims that Cheryl Cole could end up returning to the show this year after her ill-fated attempt back in 2011, with one of the primary reasons being that she could be put back into the good graces of Simon Cowell after filing a lawsuit against the show over an unpaid salary. Cole actually was a pretty good judge on the British version, and we never really understood why she was cut from here. There are suggestions that Cowell could opt to go with a panel of him and three other women, and we’re not sure that putting together Simon’s angels would be the best idea ever (mostly because the women would be subjected to jokes like this one).
As you probably already assumed, Demi Lovato is likely to return for another season.

I wouldn’t be so certain about Demi staying another season. I heard that she got a lot of backlash for her poor mentoring and constant bickering with Simon. Regardless, I still hope that The X Factor keeps her, she was a great judge and, unlike Britney and LA, she added a lot of chemistry to the judging panel. I hope they bring in GaGa or P!nk to replace Britney and Bruno Mars or Ne-Yo to replace LA.
