‘The Vampire Diaries’ notes: Ian Somerhalder, Michael Trevino, Steven R. McQueen
Want to know what is happening with some of your favorite “Vampire Diaries” stars? There are some season 4 spoilers in here, so be sure to be conscious of that first and foremost. After all, we are going to be kicking things off with a very important question: will Tyler Lockwood be back this season after taking off from Mystic Falls to escape the wrath of Klaus?
According to Zap2It, it is unlikely that Tyler will be seen again this season; and while Michael Trevino has been on lengthy absences from the show before, this one appears to be longer. After all, him returning quickly would at this point cheapen the emotional farewell that we and Caroline paid to the character on Thursday night. Personally, we’d be stunned if he never returns to the show again … but stranger things have happened.
As for Steven R. McQueen’s Jeremy, his future is still very much in the air. Kat Graham did tease recently that there was a major death coming up on the show, and this does not bode very well for Elena’s little brother. It’s also likely that she was not talking about Kol when she said this. Luckily, we’re probably not going to have to wait any longer than just a couple of weeks (luckily) in order to learn just what his ultimate fate is for the time being.
Finally, let’s turn to some news behind the scenes on the show: are we about to see a brief break from filming? Ian Somerhalder took off this weekend for a brief retreat in the tropics. Our guess? Either the show has a few days off for the holiday weekend, or the filming schedule just lined up so that he is not needed to shoot for long enough that he can have a chance to relax.
