NBC’s ‘Smash’ season 2 spoilers: Take a look at the episodes ahead
It’s true that the ratings for the “Smash” season 2 premiere were more than just a disappointment; in many ways, they were a catastrophe. However, it’s still a little bit early to give up on this series just yet for a pair of reasons:
1. It’s actually miles better than season 1. The first two hours had excitement, more defined roles for the characters, and also allowed for the production and the world of Broadway take center stage. This was more of the show pitched in the pilot than almost anything we ended up seeing after it.
2. Considering how poorly-received parts of the first season were, the premiere may have had an enormous DVR following of viewers who were curious about the show, but not even that they would tune in live. If many of these people end up liking what they see, they could end up becoming live viewers in the future.
While a trailer can make almost anything look good, the video below does give us plenty of reasons to be excited about what is coming up. For one, Karen will have almost everything that she ever dreamed of in a show on Broadway … but still, there is something else that she strives for. We’re also going to be seeing Ivy scheme in a way, but not in the same sort of way that paints her as some sort of melodramatic supervillain.

I love Karen and want to see her become a star! I also want to see she and Derek together – they have more chemistry than any other couple on the show!
