‘Raising Hope’ season 3: Look who’s spoofing ‘Homeland’ now…

First, it was “Saturday Night Live” that was having plenty of fun at the expense of Showtime’s “Homeland.” Now, we are seeing the same exact thing courtesy of the folks from “Raising Hope.”

On one of Tuesday night’s new episodes of the hit Fox comedy, you are going to have the opportunity to see Sabrina try to go all Claire Mathison on Jimmy when it comes to his history of sleepwalking, and thus she makes an elaborate chart full of all sorts of evidences supporting some of her various theories. What is Jimmy’s reaction to this? Pure shock, at least until he realizes just what show she is emulating here (especially when you put the elaborate facial expressions into the equation).

What ultimately seals the deal of having this be an uproariously funny spoof in our mind is the closing line from Jimmy, where he brings into the discussion another Showtime series that Sabrina once had quite a fondness for. It’s a cheeky little clip overall, and one that, for those of you who don’t watch “Raising Hope,” can use to figure out just what the show as a whole is really about. The show is going to continue to air back-to-back episodes for most of the coming weeks, and then will wrap up season 3 with an episode following “American Idol” a little later this year.
