ABC’s ‘Castle’ season 5, episode 13 preview: Full ‘Recoil’ sneak peeks
Just in case you were wondering just how Senator Bracken re-enters the picture on Monday night’s new “Castle” season 5 episode, it seems to really revolve around something rather random to the murder of Beckett’s mother: a woman dying who Jack Coleman’s character was supposedly having some sort of affair with.
When this body is first discovered, Castle, Beckett, and the rest of the team really have no idea just who the victim is or if the Senator is even involved at all. However, some of that starts to change when they uncover a way in which they can identify the body. Once they do this, the field day can really begin.
This woman is eventually then identified as Melanie Rogers, and the Bracken connection is made courtesy of a visit that Castle and Beckett seemingly make to a hotel. It is here through some careful persuasion (i.e. threats to make a tense situation far worse than it needs to be) that the two ultimately end up learning precisely what brings us to Bracken: that he often frequents the hotel with her.
Eventually, this reveal is going to end up taking Ryan and Esposito to confront Bracken directly, with the logic here being that he may respond better to someone no named “Detective Beckett” due to their history. Unfortunately, the man recognizes one of them, and then clams up and says that all future questions be deflected to his lawyer. In other words, get set to see a difficult process to get this man arrested … if they are able to pull it off at all.
