Fox is bringing back ‘The Swan’ … with celebrities
If you look back at all of the cheap reality series over the years, we’re not quite sure that nay managed to cause as great of a public outcry as “The Swan.” The makeover show pretty much implied that people were ugly before their transformations, and it was almost like a modern-day “What Not To Wear” meets “The X Factor.”
Well, this was a show that was off the air and pretty much forgotten by everyone … until now. Almost nine years after the original version of the show was created, Fox has announced that they are looking into bringing out a two-hour version of the show featuring celebrities to air later this year. Basically, this show is entitled “Celebrity Swan,” and it at least features a premise that is not as alarming as the original: trying to help celebrities who have fallen out of the spotlight remake their careers. Yes, there are still (ugh) plastic surgeons on board to help the ladies, but everyone who is doing this show clearly knows what they are signing up for.
Just in case you’re looking for a fun fact, one of the women behind this show in Nely Galan ended up appearing on the first person of “The Celebrity Apprentice,” where this was a product she boasted about as one of her biggest American success stories in America. The original only lasted two seasons, but it did end up scoring plenty of buzz during that time.
Here is what frustrates us the most about this: Fox could have opted to give “So You Think You Can Dance” a results show instead of spending money on a show that will likely dive. Odds are, you probably have already forgotten about the network’s last two-hour “experiment” in “Stars in Danger: the High Dive.”
