‘Game of Thrones’: Season 2 alum, ‘Merlin’ star find roles on NBC’s ‘Dracula’
Even though it seems to be pretty clear that the circumstances of Qarth resident Xaro during “Game of Thrones” season 2 would keep him from appearing on the show in the future, the following bit of news may help to set that fate even more so in stone.
According to a new report from TVLine, actor Nonso Anozie has joined “Merlin” actress Katie McGrath in landing roles on the upcoming ten-episode series “Dracula” on NBC. This show, which stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers as the title character along with “Arrow” actress Jessica de Gouw, has already been given an automatic order by the network, which is a luxury that most traditional pilots do not receive. (With being said, NBC has also decided already to hand Michael J. Fox a full 22 episodes for his upcoming return to TV.)
Anozie is going to play the character here of R.M. Renfield, who is described as a fierce companion and supporter of Dracula, and he also happens to be someone who is rather adept at keeping his innermost secrets. Meanwhile, McGrath will take on the role of Lucy, who is a wild woman from London who is a friend to de Gouw’s Mina.
While we are almost 100% positive that Xaro’s time on “Game of Thrones” is done considering that he was locked inside of a fault, it is theoretically possible that he could have a season 3 return if producers badly wanted him. After all, this show finished the vast majority of its filming in the summer and fall of last year, whereas production here is really just starting to get together.
