‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 8 spoilers: First details on Abby Elliot’s appearance

Is Abby Elliot still going to be the last girlfriend for Ted on his way to meeting the mother? We don’t know if the recent “How I Met Your Mother” renewal is going to change that, but nonetheless we are going to get our first glimpse at the former “Saturday Night Live” cast member’s character of Jeanette.

The episode that she will be appearing in next month carries with it the title of “Bad Crazy,” which should serve as some sort of sign that this woman is not somebody that is going to right for our leading man. However, for whatever reason (and possibly against his own better judgment) Ted decides that he still wants to keep her around and in his life.

“Ted is reluctant to break up with his crazy girlfriend Jeanette. Meanwhile, Robin becomes attached to Marvin after finally holding him for the first time.”

The interesting part of Elliot’s casting is that her father Chris is also a frequent guest-star on the show playing the role of Lily’s dad, though it does not appear as though the two are going to have any scenes together this week (or anytime soon, for that matter), Given how long ago Elliot’s casting was first announced, the impression given was that she was going to be appearing in multiple episodes. However, plans can change, and now it is not nearly as clear as to how long Jeanette will be a part of Ted’s life. We do want to know who is the mother soon, but we know already that the writers are probably going to make us wait until the series finale next year.
