ABC’s ‘Revenge’ season 2 spoilers: Getting closer to the sacrifice

Sadly, there is no new “Revenge” episode airing on Sunday night to be excited about; but while you are eagerly waiting the return of the show to ABC on February 10, we have some potentially-major news to share when it comes to one of season 2’s key mysteries thus far: the boat and the dead body that we saw underwater during the opening sequence of the premiere. (Warning: the following contains spoilers and/or heavy speculation.)

As you may know already, the 14th episode, which is the one immediately following the show’s return to the air, is entitled “Sacrifice,” and the short synopsis here (via SpoilerTV) explains that there will be a few characters in particular who head out to stormy seas:

“The Graysons put on a bold showing at their annual Labor Day party; the seas prove to be deadly as Amanda and Jack sail off to their honeymoon.”

Could we be seeing the end soon to the fake Amanda Clarke? This has long been theorized, and this synopsis certainly helps to support this theory. On the other hand, the folks over at ABC are pretty smart, so why would they put out a description that more or less narrows down the possible deaths to just two people? This could just be the world’s largest red herring to distract us from considering other possibilities.

All we know for certain about the person that is dying is that their death will make a huge imprint on Emily, and it is someone who she considers to be at least a partial ally. (With that in mind, don’t expect Victoria to be losing her life again as she pretended to do during the season 1 finale.)
