‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 8 spoilers: Who wants Tim Horton’s?

Somehow, you knew that “How I Met Your Mother” would not be able to get away with doing an episode all about Canada without finding a way to implement Tim Horton’s into it. The cafe and bake shop is an institution for our friends north of the border, and this show has proven to be the best advertising they have had in America … pretty much ever. (It makes sense, given that they are actually pretty delicious.)

The photo to left featuring Neil Patrick Harris and James Van Der Beek (reprising his old role as Robin’s ex Simon) is from the upcoming “P.S. I Love You” episode, which is being considered to us at the moment as the episode that bridges the gap between Robin Sparkles and the Robin who now lives in New York City. Considering that she was at one pop a pop sensation in the country, there had to be a fall from grace that kept her from being in Canada’s good graces forever … and this episode will feature Ms. Sparkles taking a rather dark turn. We don’t know why Barney and Simon are chatting now, but maybe it is an attempt to have Robin connect a little bit more with her past and open up.

There will be a plethora of big-name Canadian stars appearing in this episode, including the likes of Alex Trebek, Alan Thicke, Jason Priestley, Paul Shaffer, K.D. Lang, and many more. You can watch the full video of the casting announcement here, and it is just as ridiculous upon repeat viewings as it was the first time around.
