‘How I Met Your Mother’ season 8, episode 14 preview: Barney and Robin team up
The final clip that we have to share for Monday’s “How I Met Your Mother” season 8 episode (you can watch the other one here) has arrived below, and we’re pleased to report that it may be the funniest footage we have seen from the half-hour yet. Why? It starts with a number of great burns about Ted’s bracelet courtesy of Barney and Robin, and it ends with all of the gang at MacLaren’s acting as though there is a talking giraffe roaming the streets.
Basically, the premise of the scene is simple: Ted wants the gang to come outside to meet his new girlfriend, but he refuses to bring her inside the bar. Thanks to this, the gang is all convinced that he is pulling a Manti Te’o (that’s now a phrase, even if he was just a hoax victim), and that there is really no one out there with him at all.
Instead, it turns out that the only reason he can’t bring Carly inside of the bar is because she is not 21 years old, and has to wait six and a half more months before she can come inside and check out the joint. This may very well be what is called a cry for help: Ted is obviously in a bad way, and his friends are the only people who can get him to realize that this is probably not who he is looking for. It’s not so much that she is young that is the problem; it’s that her maturity level is different and the two have absolutely nothing in common. Thanks to that, Ted is trying to change to accommodate her.
Carly is played by “Pretty Little Liars” actress Ashley Benson, and be sure to stick around for the last half of the episode to find out some rather interesting surprises.
Just in case all of the footage that we’ve shared for this episode thus far is not enough for you, be sure to head over to the link here to see the short promo.
