‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4, episode 10 review: Rebekah finds common ground
We don’t necessarily know that there was any one moment that stood out above the others on Thursday night’s new episode of “The Vampire Diaries,” but there was one thing that we definitely took from the hour above all else: the characters are closer to the cure than ever. Of course, that is still no guarantee that a cure even still exists.
Professor Shane has proven to be a rather complicated character, but we did at least learn through him that he believes he knows where this cure is; and now, he just has to figure out a way in which to ensure that he makes it there … which is really not as easy as it seems. The man has already put something in motion in order to release Silas into the world, and if this happens, it really just means one thing: chaos.
Speaking of which, who would have ever imagined that we would have ended up seeing Rebekah and Stefan actually teaming up? This unlikely pair, following a sequence of Claire Holt’s character trapping him inside a school, actually realized that they shared some common ground. Therefore, they are plotting to get the cure for themselves, that way they can use it to turn Klaus mortal and get rid of the scourge of Mystic Falls once and for all.
As for some of the other key moments this week, who else thought that Klaus’ fast-tracking plan to get Jeremy some more power was pure genius? It’s also interesting to see that Damon is on his side, and he is so focused on that he didn’t really even bother to respond to Elena’s “I love you” with much of anything.
