‘Hart of Dixie’ season 2 spoilers: ‘That 70’s Show’ star in as…
“Hart of Dixie” is going back to the 1970s … at least when it comes to one of the actors that is coming up soon on their show.
According to a new report from TVLine, Debra Jo Rupp, who is probably known best for playing Eric Foreman’s mother Kitty on the popular Fox sitcom “That 70’s Show,” will be appearing in an episode of the underrated CW dramedy in the role of Betsy Maynard, the mother of Wanda who just happens to have a love for a certain drink otherwise known as gin. As for how she fits into the story, word has it that Zoe ends up getting stuck with her after Wanda makes the decision to run for the hills.
There is no word definitively just yet on when Rupp will appear, but her casting is most definitely good news for anyone who loves to see someone from sitcoms past on the show. In addition to playing Kitty and uttering a famous laugh time and time again, Rupp also played a different sort of maternal character on the short-lived ABC sitcom “Better With You.” She can be very entertaining, so let’s hope that there is a good deal of material here for her to work with.
“Hart of Dixie” returned on Tuesday night after a holiday hiatus to some fairly steady ratings, and also the first real for fight for Zoe and Wade since the beginning of their relationship. Let’s just hope that the quality stays high the rest of the way, as there still is more than half of the season ahead.
