‘Two and a Half Men’ season 10, episode 13 review: Walden, Kate, and singing

Two and a Half MenFor just about any show that lasts longer than six seasons, it is almost inevitable that you are going to see some sort of musical episode at some point in time. After all, it is inevitable that you are going to run out of ideas eventually, and music gives viewers something to talk about.

When it comes to “Two and a Half Men,” they actually do have a little bit going for them at the moment. The story with Walden and Kate has to us been this point interesting, but Walden decided that he needed to break the truth to his girlfriend about who he really was this week by flying out to New York City. This moment had to happen eventually, especially since we imagined that Brooke D’Orsay would have to eventually take off to her regular job over “Royal Pains.” She didn’t really have any interest at first in being with the guy after some of what he did to her, even if his intentions were right.

Then … came the singing. We’re sure that some people probably hated it, but seeing Walden’s reaction to getting dumped via song was at least something different than we have seen before. Plus, it was nice to see the show move its setting to the land of musicals in New York, even if it was for just a few minutes.

The show also came up with a clever way to end the Kate storyline for now: they did not close the door on it by any means, but had Kate remain in New York to pursue her dreams (all thanks to him). Considering that she was one of the few genuinely nice women we’ve seen on the show, we’re really rooting for her and Walden to get together at the end of the day more than anyone else. However, we’d be surprised if we saw much more of her save for an appearance or two this season.

Be as cynical as you want about the show being less funny without Charlie Sheen, but we appreciated the effort that was put into this. What did you think? If you want to watch some more videos from this episode, all you have to do is head on over to the link here.
