‘Private Practice’ season 6, episode 11 review: Did Amelia find love?
Do you know how you can tell when you are near the end of a series? When you have episodes like this, which revolve largely around tying up a major loose end from the show’s past. In the case on Tuesday night’s new episode of “Private Practice” season 6, this loose end just so happened to be the romantic life of Amelia.
Luckily, she was able to find some sort of sweet relief this week, and it all came courtesy of a particularly fetching new man at the hospital with long locks of hair and a genuinely sweet personality. The problem here? She just wasn’t sure that she could trust herself after becoming sober and with all of the baggage that she had.
In a sense, we could understand the criticism that this new characters was almost a little too perfect for the taste of some viewers out there. Then again, that was kind of the point over the episode: to show how Amelia nearly botched a relationship with a perfect guy for her, especially after trying to find fault with the fact that he is Republican, or that he tried to stand up for her against his overbearing mother. There were a number of times where she tried to ruin this relationship for herself, but he just wouldn’t let it happen.
For fans of Amelia, we have a feeling that this simple love story (at least in the deeper context of the story) is going to make them happy. After all, this was a rare example of a Shonda Rhimes happy ending: you know that there will be conflict down the road, but you also know that these two have the capacity to work through it. The only downside here? Since the focus was all on her, we still have no idea at the moment what is going to happen to Charlotte’s freakin’ triplets. How long is this going to take?
