‘The New Normal’ spoilers: Want to see Matt Bomer shirtless?

When Ryan Murphy decided to bring his former “Glee” guest star Matt Bomer over to “The New Normal,” he really wanted to make sure that he had another role for him that showed off a completely different side. After all, how else do you explain the “White Collar” being forced to do a strenuous workout routine while shirtless?

The photo below from the show’s episode airing Tuesday night (via Entertainment Weekly) shows pretty much exactly what we are talking about here, and we are sure that there are going to be plenty of people out there now with some extra incentive to watch. In case you have not heard, Bomer will be playing Bryan’s ex Monty, who is a notorious party guy who they decide to try and set up with one of his and David’s friends in Gary (Michael Hitchcock). Unfortunately, in doing so, they may have created a little bit of competition for Goldie.

For Bomer, this role is clearly yet another opportunity to expand upon his comedic talents. He was a part of “Magic Mike” last summer, and in addition to “Glee” he was previously apart of another comedic show in “Chuck” (which was prior to his days on “White Collar”). Meanwhile, do we really have to even say how his presence helps “The New Normal”? While the show has not exactly been a ratings monster, it has been one of the better new comedies of the year, and considering the performance elsewhere on NBC (in particular Thursday nights), we would be positively stunned to see it not brought back for a season 2.
