‘Saturday Night Live’: Justin Bieber hints at hosting, performing
Is Justin Bieber finally going to host “Saturday Night Live”? This was a rumor that was first started by Alec Baldwin in a podcast with Lorne Michaels last year, but for whatever reason nothing ended up becoming of it. However, it is starting to look now like this is more and more a possibility based on what the 18-year old pop star is saying online.
In a recent post on his official Twitter page, Bieber suggested that he might be hosting and performing during an upcoming episode of the live sketch-comedy show … though there has been no word from NBC on this just yet. If Bieber is hosting, it will not be until February at the earlier, based on the fact that Jennifer Lawrence and Adam Levine are taking on the two shows this month on January 19 and 26, respectively.
If Bieber does end up being the host, he will be the first person to pull double-duty since we saw Bruno Mars do so sensationally last year. We have no doubt that it is beneficial for “SNL” ratings-wise to do this, but the real question we have at the moment is just whether or not Bieber will be willing to make fun of himself enough to make a show a classic on the level with some of what we have seen the past few years. Hopefully, he takes some cues from Justin TImberlake, another masterful host / singer who has made headlines in the past. (Timberlake was so good that he has been brought back on several occasions.)
Stay tuned, as we’ll have more here as it breaks. Do you like the idea of Bieber hosting? If you want to read more “SNL” news, be sure to visit the link here.
