‘The Vampire Diaries’ season 4: Ian Somerhalder arrives back in America
For those wondering when “The Vampire Diaries” season 4 is going to be back in production, we now have some sort of answer for you courtesy of Ian Somerhlader: soon. After all, the actor is now back in America following a trip to China and Thailand, and he will now be ready to dive into both his work as Damon Salvatore and his work in the environmental community. (After all, his foundation is growing by the day.) There’s no word yet on whether or not his girlfriend Nina Dobrev joined him in arriving to America, but we would assume so given that she also has to get back to work on the Atlanta set.
Somerhalder confirmed his arrival in a brand-new post on his Twitter account, where he said the following about being back in America, and his general sense of optimism concerning the new year:
“Feet on US soil… Actually concrete -soil coming soon.So insanely appreciative of the time off but ready to conspire with you all this year … And make amazingness [happen].”
So how will the rest of season 4 production go? Generally, filming on the remaining episodes continues until April, and then the cast has several months off until they return to Atlanta in mid-July in order to get some work started on the following season. During this second break, we’re sure that we will see both Somerhalder and Dobrev traveling again (where they will hopefully do some more good for the planet).
