‘The X Factor’ USA notes: Tate Stevens, Carly Rose Sonenclar, Melanie Amaro
Ready to find out some more happenings from the world of “The X Factor” USA? In this new edition of show notes, we’re going to start things off with some new and very exciting details about who reigning champ Tate Stevens is working with already on his debut album.
In a new post on Twitter, the country star (who now has a $5 million recording contract to his name) announced that he has spent a little bit of time working with Jonathan Cain … otherwise known as the same guy who wrote one of the most-popular songs in music history in “Don’t Stop Believin'” by Journey. In other words, this guy knows how to make some hit music, and it is good to see that Tate already is being set up with a good team of people to help him launch his career straight from the get-go.
We know that Tate is set to release his album at some point this year, which brings us to another interesting topic of conversation…
When is Melanie Amaro’s album coming out? – Things have not gone particularly great for the season 1 winner since she was handed a recording contract of her own. None of her singles have received much attention at all, and her performance on season 2 has already been largely forgotten.
Mjsbigblog made a pretty big find that Melanie’s debut album “Truly” is listed at Walmart is coming out on March 13. We’ve always loved her voice, so we hope that there are some songs on here that really show off its full capabilities. Thus far, Amaro’s biggest problem has been merely that big vocalists are just not as “in” as they used to be in the music industry.
Some assorted Carly notes – There’s a few assorted things that we have to talk about here with Carly, beginning with that she is talking about adding some more official merchandise to her store. It’s almost funny in a way that despite being the youngest person in the final four this season, it’s clear that she has been at this for the longest with an experienced team around her.
Carly’s been a little bit more coy about her music future, and she has a new website (though it, unlike the new sites for Tate and Fifth Harmony, does not have the Syco name attached to it yet). Judging from her online activity, expect to see her hit the ground running soon when it comes to plotting out her future endeavors.

Mike, and exactly how much money does the boomer generation spend compared to the teens and young adults. In the end, thats where it will ultimately matter. The dollars just are not there to matter for a Tate Stevens country singer.

I believe Carly is way better than Tate. He is average but that little girl can sing. She belongs up there with Celine Dion. Tate won because his friends probably voted the 150 times each. Plus they felt sorry because of his age and yes, his story.

You are right, Alice, about some of the previous winners not going far or for very long. And you are probably right about Carly getting all those views on You Tube. However, most of us in the baby boom generation (and we are the largest demographic group at this time) don’t go in for You Tube, Twitter, FaceBook, and all that other ultra modern stuff that the younger people do. Tate’s got a huge following among us middle-aged and older folks but we still communicate that stuff the old-fashioned way. Tate will go far. And so will Carly. Each has their own style of music and each has their own following. Anyway, I’m done reading this blog. I only stumbled upon it accidentally while researching something else. I have better things to do than to waste time on the internet. Happy New Year everyone! Maybe I’ll see you at a Tate Stevens concert sometime.

I beg to differ with mike, Carly has had by FAR the most YouTube views and I live in nz and know a lot of people who love Carly which I think shows how many people in other countries like her better than tate. Also when you think about it Tate is good at country music but when you think of how many other people are good at it too it is quite a different story. I think Carly will go far. Also if you look at the xfactor other seasons most winners aren’t even heard about in a few years.

Stop arguing whether about who should have won X Factor and who is better. As Simon Cowell said in an interview before the 2012 season began airing, when asked “What is the x factor?” the first thing he said was “timing”. He said something like, “Lady Gaga, five years ago might not have worked, but now, she is the biggest thing” (not exact wording but you get the drift)
I totally agree to what he said. Sometimes these things are just a matter timing, being at the right place at the right time, having certain fellow competitors, etc. 2012 was Tate’s year and just get used to that idea. I’m sure when Carly’s time comes she will deservingly reap in all the the benefits deservingly.

Carly and Tate are very good singers. It just depends on what kind of music that you like as to which one you choose. I think the first time Tate sang, the audience was behind him. You also have to appreciate the fact that he raised his family first. Good luck Carly and Tate

carly is amazing her talent is probably 100 times what tate’s is. honestly i could sing the songs that tate sang during the competition as well or better than he did. not saying hes not a decent singer, he is. but decent singers are a dime a dozen, its not that hard to sing country music. on the other hand look at the difficult songs carly rose sang, like “somewhere over the rainbow” …”my heart will go on” by celine dion and “hallelujah” to name a few, i mean this girl is phenomenal. shes the closest to perfect ive ever seen. u guys are underestimating the amount of effort and skill it takes to sing the way carly did during the competition

Have you checked lately? England, Australia, Ireland, and Japan love American country music. I never said Carly wasn’t any good. She’s OK if you like pop. But country is big and very popular and Tate is one hell of a talent. I’ve watched him perform for over 10 years and you would not believe how many people love his music. Research before you speak. Otherwise, it makes you look like a fool.

That’s cute Mike. Tate is a mediocre singer at best. The one and only reason he won the X factor is because he sings country music. Country singers are only big in the United States; Carly by comparison is actually a talented vocalist who will have success worldwide.

Yep Ron, you’re a douche. You don’t know good singing when you hear it. Tate’s story is not a sob story. He’s proud to be married and raising kids. And I know Tate is not his real name. I’ve known the man for over 10 years. He’s honestly worked for everything he has and he won X-Factor fair and square. Country music is where it’s at and it’s here to stay. Get a life Whistle Nuts!

I just wanted to point out that Melanie Amaro’s album will be out on march 12th, not the 13th.

The only reason he did all that touring and gigging and never got any attention was the simple fact that he cannot sing, off key most the time and a near monotone delivery. And his name is not Tate, thats a stage name, won on sob story which he delivered with great skill every time the camera was on him or any other member of his family. If he had worked on his singing skills as much as his poor old Tate story, he may have had something.

Whoever edits this blog doesn’t keep up with what is going on. You say that it’s funny that Carly is the youngest but has the most experience. Wrong-O! Tate has been performing since he was a kid. After high school he toured the world with The Dixie Cadillacs, was a regular in the Big Creek Opry in Pleasant Hill, MO, and at the Middle Creek Opry in Louisburg, KS, and while working as a street dept. employee he also performed with the Outlaw Junkies at nightclubs, fairs, and such. This man has worked his butt off and deserves the good things that are happening for him. now.
