‘Downton Abbey’ season 4: Will [spoiler] find love again?
Even though “Downton Abbey” season 4 has yet to even start filming again, it is still not too early to talk about some general plot points; and when you have a show like this, you pretty much have to assume that romance is going to factor into the equation early and often. (Warning: the following contains spoilers, so read on at your own risk.)
So following the tragic events of the season 3 Christmas special, not everyone may necessarily think about the future of Michelle Dockery’s Mary right away. After all, we’re all still processing what happened to Dan Stevens’ character of Matthew, and the circumstances in which the actor himself chose to say goodbye to a role that made him into a household name.
However, Mary does still have a future to look forward to in season 4 of the show, and it apparently (per TVLine) will involve a new man. Who will it be? The report lists two possibilities as candidates: someone new, or a face that we have already come to know on the ITV series.
Just from a personal perspective, we’re going to tear our eyes out if for whatever reason Mary ends up with Tom Branson. It would be so terribly straight out of a soap opera if two characters that we already know got together simple because people close to them ended up dying. Plus, we have yet to see any sort of tangible chemistry between the two characters at all.
We are sure that Mary is not the only person who love will be in the air for on the show moving forward. There are no indications that Edith’s new romance will stop, and indications are that Tom will find someone to fall for in the future.
What do you think: do you want to see Mary move on following Matthew’s death moving forward? If you want to see some more scoop pertaining to “Downton Abbey” season 4, all you have to do is head on over to the link here.

Tom was not a farmer, his grandfather was. And Tom and Daisy? No way! She is not his type: too young and kind of ditzy. Tom is well-read and educated, Daisy is not at all. I love her, but no. They would pair him with someone new or Lady Rose. A lovely, smart and progressive new nanny would be good too.
I really think Mary will mourn for most of S4. They are talking about her baby here: he is brand spanking new. It’s misleading.

I hated the way Fellowes ended the Christmas special – really it ruined the holiday!
Mary needs to mourn big time – Season 4 should be the end of the show so don’t hook her up with anyone. Daisy and Tom – there is a match! She has land and he was a farmer. Can’t see him hanging about Downton for too long without Mathew there to support him. The Crawleys should lose everything in 1929 – Cora and Robert go to sponge off her Mother – so do Anna and Bates. Edith and Mary are forced to work together to turn Downton into a hotel! Carson and Mrs. Hughes marry. The Dowager dies.

I agree a good romance is needed to keep the viewers interested. Mary need someone like Matthew. It is sad that Dan Stevens choose not to come back. Dan played Matthew very well. Hope they will find someone as good as he.

No way should they bring back Evelyn Napier – he was such a drip. They need it to be someone who is lovely looking without being smarmy looking. He needs to have a cuteness with smarkling eyes and sexy smile – someone who will bring that chemistry between them. ie the guy (I forget his name) who played Mr Darcy in Pride and Prejudice in the film (not Colin Firth). Branson could fall in love with his baby’s nanny, perhaps. The main thing is a good romance is what is needed to keep the female viewers interested.
