‘The X Factor’ UK: Who knew Lucy Spraggan was so popular on Google?
Are you ready for a surprise that is coming out now courtesy of “The X Factor” UK? Well, we have it now courtesy of a young woman in Lucy Spraggan who withdrew from the competition midway through the season in the fall, is not on tour, and yet has somehow made it to the top of Google’s Top Trending Artists for 2012.
How exactly did that happen? We’re still trying to really figure that out, mostly since Lucy was never at the top of the public vote in any of the weeks that she was present during the live shows. As a matter of fact, the highest ranking that she ever had in the first three weeks was 5th place.
Our guess? Unlike Rylan Clark, Jahmene Douglas, or the season’s eventual winner in James Arthur, Lucy made her mark on the show performing original music. Therefore, there was a reason for people to seek her out online, as they likely were hoping to find recordings of such songs as “Tea and Toast” and “Last Night,” which was her audition song that first put her on the map to begin with.
Since leaving the show Lucy has been hard at work on an album, which would hopefully come out at some point this year along with a promotional tour of some sort across Britain. Regardless of whether or not she won the show this year, she already has shown such a knack for songwriting that we have a hard time thinking that she is going to disappear from memory at any point in the near future.
Are you surprised that Lucy took this honor home, especially considering just how long she was actually on the show? If you want to see some more news when it comes to Union J’s management dilemma, all you have to do is visit the story over at the link here.
