NBC’s ‘The Voice’ winner Cassadee Pope wants Blake Shelton on album
Less than 24 hours after becoming the winner of “The Voice” season 3, we are already finding out a little bit about just what sort of album Cassadee Pope wants to make, and just who from the hit NBC show she wants to have as a part of it.
Speaking in a new interview with Billboard mere minutes after the show wrapped up for the year, Pope admitted that she had already asked her coach in Blake Shelton whether or not he would be a part of her debut album (at least away from Hey Monday), to which he replied that he would “pay” to be a part of it, since he is that convinced that she is going to become a big-time superstar at some point moving forward. In addition to that, she also said that her album would have some of the same sort of country roots that she showed off on the show along with some of the pop / rock leanings from her musical history:
“If you were to take Taylor Swift, make it edgier with a just a little hint of country and make the lyrics a little more mature, that would be the direction I’d like to take.”
With the “mature” part in mind, we are guessing that Cassadee does not currently have a plan to compose a song about every single person she has dated over the course of her life. Luckily, we think she is going to still find plenty of other things in which to take inspiration from moving forward in her career.
What do you think Cassadee’s album should sound like, and are you already convinced that you will be picking it up? Be sure to share what you think below! If you want to take a look back at the full results for “The Voice” finale, you can do so over at the link here.
