NBC’s ‘The Voice’ finale preview: iTunes leans to Cassadee Pope, Terry McDermott
Who is going to end up winning season 3 of “The Voice”? There are many factors in here that we have to consider, but there is still one that has taken precedence over everything else on the show so far: iTunes voting. With that in mind, we’re also putting it down here as the most important thing that should ultimately determine the winner of the competition. After all, the votes on the site have yet to be wrong. especially when you consider that total sales are going to play a big part in the final vote.
So let’s try to put this in basic terms, as we have for most of the competition thus far: Cassadee Pope is currently dominating the vote, and to be honest the only person who seems possible to overtake her with phone calls and the like is Terry McDermott. She’s consistently ranked the highest on the sales chart (including as of this writing), and her performance of “Over You” is the top-selling performance of this competition by a mile. It’s really not even close.
We don’t know if these are Blake Shelton fans who are actively supporting his artist, or if Cassadee and Terry really are the viewer favorites. We will have no problem with her winning, though, largely because she and Amanda Brown (never forget!) were the two best singers in the competition.
As for the whole format of iTunes voting, we’re still on the fence about whether or not this is a good way to determine a winner in future seasons (especially with that multiplier kicked in). It is a great way to help monetize the show and keep it on the air longer while still paying the coaches big money, but it puts so much emphasis on song choice. If an artist performs a song that is unfamiliar to viewers, it hurts them … even if the track is fantastic.
Do you think that Cassadee has this almost in the bag at this point? If you want to look at all of the performances from Monday’s show, you can do so over here.

Are we serious about Cassadee being one of the best singers? She was horrible on the first two rounds of the finals before she actually sang well. She always had rough starts before she finished her songs. She has a weak lower register. Yeah, she does seem to emotionally connect better with the songs than the other contestants, but her execution was just not as consistent.
My one criticism of The Voice is the judges start becoming too much of a cheerleader once they get to the Top 12. There were some not amazing parts in the performances, but the judges made it sound as if they were always amazing.

I liked Terry McDermott the entire season. I feel that Cassadee by using Blake Sheldons song two times: re his brother played on the sympathies of the voting public.
Understandable….. especially after the recent shooting of children!!!
