‘The Walking Dead’ season 3: Chad Coleman talks Tyreese’s future
On the midseason finale of “The Walking Dead” season 3 we finally had a chance to meet Tyreese (Chad Coleman) and while we haven’t had much of a chance to really see what the hit AMC series plans to do with the him yet, fans are curious to see how closely they will stick to Robert Kirkman’s books when it comes to his character.
In a new interview with Blastr, Coleman said that Tyreese’s story arc will “surprise” fans, even those who faithfully follow the comic books origins. He said: “I would say the humanity of the man is very much akin to what was done in the graphic novels. His desire to protect and his desire to abstain from egregious violence, like I said, his humanity, his strong sense of family, those are things that are resonating for me in playing this role.”
Coleman also said that being part of a show like “The Walking Dead” is a huge honor and he hopes that he will be able to continue to make the viewers proud of the series. He said: “I’ve created an original role before, but to have something that was already present in another form [in the comics] and to be able to honor it… that’s huge for me, so that’s my desire – to continue to make the audience proud of what’s happening in the television world of The Walking Dead.”
In the comic books Tyreese ends up in relationships with both Carol and Michonne – so will fans get to see him hooking up with either (or both) of the ladies on the series? Coleman said that he as an actor would love that, but that his lips were sealed as to if it was actually going to happen or not.
“The Walking Dead” season 3 will be returning to AMC in February, but in the meantime keep checking back for more spoilers and previews of what’s to come in the second half of the season.
